Saving Sarah
Saving Sara is 30-minute video of a stage production depicting how Sara Gillman was saved from almost certain death during the Holocaust in Lithuania. Written by Brandermill Rotarian, Nancy Wright Beasley, the play is geared toward Rotary/Rotaract/Interact clubs and schools, as a way to begin conversations on peace/conflict management and how to thwart anti-Semitism, discrimination and bullying. The video of the play can be accessed for a nominal donation by Rotary clubs. Nancy, a polio survivor who was never supposed to walk again, will donate 20% of Rotary funds to PolioPlus at Brandermill Rotary Club. The video can be used during a regular meeting as a fund raiser for PolioPlus. Donations from the Gates Foundation will instantly triple the sum raised. For information on how to obtain Saving Sara, which will be ready to order by mid-September 2018, for use on World Polio Day, write to: nancy@nancywrightbeasley.com. Saving Sara is based on Nancy Wright Beasley’s historical novel The Little Lion: A Hero in the Holocaust, which has been used by teachers/professors in schools/colleges since 2015.
